When we fished our toile we tried dying all of the fabric, then we decided between each other to use the yellow on the crochet we all did for the garment and have it contrasting against a blue which May dyed.

When I designed the painting on the garment I looked into the flower which is a Peony, the old traditional flower of China. The way how I painted the garment was by tracing the pattern, then putting it under the fabric so I could see where to paint, we used gouache because it had a matte look and the colours were really strong.

We each did a line up of 8 garments we would choose which one to make our final garment, but we had made a decision before doing these line-ups so we included the final garment at the top right and worked around it using the colours and techniques such as crochet and painting.

When we had our exhibition I drew a front and back design of the garment according to how we'd made it, it didn't need any zips or fastenings, the only thing we had to adjust was when Aga wore the garment we had to sew the side a little bit tighter so that the garment would fit her better.

With some more collages I did, I drew from the main silhouette and looked at the shapes to make different types of garments like, shorts, skirts, dresses, tops and trousers.

With May's embroidery from Ice Skating costumes she collected images with bright colours to match with what we want our garment to have the same colours as, we really liked the orange and the blue together.

We also looked at pastel colours because some of my collages were painted quite femininely and we decided to go for the pastel bright theme through to our garment. Some of our garments turned out similar to some of Bovan's work again too, so I added colour to ever emphasise it and I liked the colours that related to the Peony which in my research was by the Tang Dynasty's, China's old national flower, which is shown in my research of the garments they are always included along with a phoenix, and also transferred to our garment when I painted the design.

Matthew Bovan's work looked similar to how we draped and collaged with the cut jersey and crochet which looked really nice, along with some of the research that May had done with ice-skate wear.

Upon looking at colour wheels after Easter break, i looked into both May's and Aga's research and mixed it with mine to find the colours are very similar and very bright so we decided to make the garments bright. After looking at Matthew Bovan's work suggested by our tutor because of the similarity we looked at how the garments look like they have hoops or circles in them similar to crochet, which we then tried a few samples of and also added that to our garment.

I did some line-ups from each of our collages, then worked into them using crochet that we did. I also lined some parts because it makes it easier to see what the fabric is doing and what it looks like through the layers.

I added colour to match the garments below to the research above, I liked the colours on the garments, and the patterns, I drew one of the flowers seen on the woman in red and blue, and through that and the design on her bottoms we decided to expand from that and add it onto our garment.

When we were draping on the stand we used the fabric to drape over me, as I stretched and put my arms in different positions to see what the fabric would look like, I liked how some of them turned out. I also tried to match what the skirts looked like in one of the pictures along with one of the drapes. I wanted to over-enthasize the shapes that the draping made when we cut strips into the jersey by cutting out parts to create contrast.

Using 'Red Shoes' what Agnieszka researched in, I looked at the red and white of the ballet shoes and crocheted a ribbon like the one similar to ones on ballet shoes.

I did multiple different collages and looked at the way the jersey was cut to fit around the neckline, and then tried matching the garment with Agnieszka's colour chart.
When I first started to research I looked straight into Chinese Silk Dancing, all different types of the dances, using some of the photo's with good colours, I used pictures from when we draped on the stand to create complex draped garments with colours that matched the pictures. I really liked the colours I put together.

When we were working with Interactive Arts, we were asked to make a garment that made movement more difficult or emphasize it, so when we looked around we saw people use tights to stuff with paper, and that gave us the idea of legs, and then it ended up becoming false legs to make it look like the wearer is sitting like someone who is meditating. We used our legs to make casts with paper and masking tape then stuffed and moulded them into crossing legs.
